Thoughts from SunniPath Students (Part 5)

Posted by Saudah Mirza, Outreach Manager on May 4th, 2008

From Sa’iyd Yasin, USA

1. Do you remember how you originally found out about SunniPath or how you ended up taking a course?
At that time I had made intentions to review my notes from the Nur ul Idah and Arabic Grammar classes which I had took some years ago. While making preparations to start my review I had went on the internet surfing for something and came across the sunnipath site. alhamudulillah which was a dua answered.

2. Do you remember your first course?
Fiqh For Seekers (Part I: Worship), Sh. Faraz Rabbani (teacher).
What was your experience like?
Al Hamdulillah Who allowed me to take the class because it was a great aid in reviewing Nur idah. The class quenched the thirst for Ilm ul Din by being able to drink from the fountain of Ilm from a reliable source again. It was comforting for years not to be able to study this Scared Knowledge on a regular bases under a Alim was uncomfortable.

3. Why did you continue taking courses?
Allah did not accept me to go and study the Scared Knowledge in a school or sit for a long period of time with a Shaikh, so the next best thing for me was to take class at Sunnipath to further my Islamic education. May Allah reward those who put Sunnipath togather and are making effort to server the needs of those who are taking classes at sunnipath.

4. What was your favorite course?
I like learning so to pick a Quran, Arabic, Fiqh, Hadith, Belief, or Spirituality course over another would be hard to do. All of these courses are dear to me.

5. What’s one way SunniPath has personally affected your life?
Sunnipath has personally affected me by showing that one must keep a strong concern (fikr), keep making Dua to Allah to make your concern a reality if it is good for your in this life and the next, and to keep making effort and never give up hope no matter what you are going through in Life. If Allah has decreed for something to happen it will happen and nothing in this creation will stop it. These words have become real to me because learning Din from people who have a direct connection throught their teachers back Nabi Muhammad May Peace and Blessing be with Him on a weekly base for me was happening for some time then stop for a long time until Sunnipath open it doors and Allah guided me to the door of Sunnipath which has allowed me to take class that have affected me in making more effort to continue my journey towards Allah with a better understanding of how to bring the sunah in my life and encouraging others.
