Thoughts from SunniPath Students (Part 3)
From SunniPath Student Nausheen Shervani in Japan:
SunniPath is a Ocean of knowledge, which allows one to drink from the fountain of so many erudite scholars, sincere and devoted to this beautiful deen of Allah. May Allah preserve each one of them, their families and their progeny. May He bestow His special favor on them, grace them with election, and make us sincere in learning from them, in benefiting from them for the duniya and akhira, Allahumma amen!
SunniPath was a Q&A service back in 2004, when I found it a very handy tool to bookmark on my desktop. It appeared to be a reliable source of information along with being an easy-to-access-source in a country miles away from home and teachers.
Once I had submitted a question to this service with a relatively faint hope of hearing anything in particular. To my surprise, not only did I received an answer, but rather a very long explanation of the situation in query came to my inbox, from Shaykh Faraz Rabbani. Along with that he had closed with a signature insinuating to “SunniPath Academy” which made me curious and later turned out to be my first online learning experience, under the shaykh himself. Subhan Allah, it was such a wonderful experience, as if I was re-born in Islam – affirming and re-confirming all the practices of deen, the course was well illustrated, very professionally presented in a beautiful, healthy and encouraging learning atmosphere. I still remember, it was the Essentials of Hanafi Fiqh, taught through his translation “Absolute Essentials of Hanafi Fiqh” then in press. Ever since I have been glued to the place, in awe and aspiration to learn, grow and taste the sweetness of Islam. Alhamdulillah.
Coincidentally year 2004 was also a time of spiritual crisis at this end, thus the religious courses at SunniPath which I had registered in consecutive semesters were turning out to be a blessing in many special ways. This was however not going to be all in the design of Allah subhanahu wa taála. My relationship with the academy was supposed to grow deeper and stronger. In the summer of 2006 the academy had introduced a new course, which I did not quite think I might need – but registered to, anyway. I thought the title was “catchy”, and there was nothing to lose, since this was my dear Academy. It so happened that this turned out to be the most perfect course in the most perfect time of my life! “The Journey to Allah – Spiritual Guidance for Muslim Women and Men” – the “I” had thought it did not need a spiritual commentary on the practices of Islam – where at the same time the soul was in desperate need of guidance. In plain words, I did not need to take a course to understand the meaning of spiritual purification, however I did need a living guide to help me bring this transformation into my own soul. This course was a road map indicating “YOU ARE HERE” on the page of my life, giving directions how to proceed. The course ended in 12 weeks, and my TA recognized myself as a student who had completed all requirements to earn a “course credit” , however my journey had just begun … Now, I was a different person, and the world was a different place for me. Alhamdulillah, shukrillah!! Most of this had to do with a relationship that developed with the people at SunniPath Academy.
Having taken several courses in these past 4 years, can say that every course has a special flavor, an individuality, a different taste. However they are all dyed in one basic ingredient, fashioned from the same fabric of love of Allah, strife for earning His good pleasure, becoming a better muslim for ones ownself and for the community at large.
May the Academy prosper to seem 1000s of Anniversaries, continuing to illumine 100s of 1000s of hearts, all over the world through its innumerous rays of knowledge. Ameen!

Salam,
It was nice to see your post here…Masha Allah.
“The Journey to Allah” course greatly impacted me…it does’nt just teach tusawwaf (Islamic spirituality) but it actually ingrains it in you… it was my 1st with SunniPath and was the best experience…I actually repeated the course because I liked it so much…would definitely recommend it!!
