HIGHLIGHTS
5-Year Anniversary Coming Soon: SunniPath will insha’Allah be celebrating its 5th anniversary next month! The SP website was first launched on April 9th, 2003. There are a number of special contests, drawings, events, and more planned for the next couple of months, so keep an eye on our homepage and blog for announcements. Loving the Beloved: The birthday of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is this month. As part of honoring him, SunniPath is hosting a 1-day celebration on March 22nd focusing on his beautiful form and outward appearance, the perfection of his character, and the concern, mercy, and love he has for us all. With talks by Shaykh Abdul-Kareem Yahya and Ustadha Noura Shamma, as well as a session with songs and poetry, this is an event not to be missed. Registration is only $10, and we will give back to all those who register a $10 gift certificate towards registering for any SunniPath course in the future! Learn more and register.

STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS Shaykh Ashraf Muneeb has joined SunniPath as the Dean of the Academy. As the Dean, Shaykh Ashraf will be managing SunniPath faculty; implementing the curriculum; setting academic policies; and establishing academic partnerships; all with the goal of fostering excellence in teaching and service. We are extremely excited to have someone with the high level of skills and experience as Shaykh Ashraf join us for this key position. Shaykh Ashraf formally began his Shari’a studies in Damascus in 1997, and graduated with honors from the Mahad al-Fath in 2003, as well as privately studied several books in methodology & Hanafi fiqh with Shaykh Hassan al-Hindi; Hanafi fiqh, hadith and hadith sciences with Shaykh Adnan Darwish; Hanafi fiqh with Shaykh Abdul Rahman Arjan; tenets of faith with Shaykh Mustafa al-Turkmani; hadith with Dr. Nureddin al-‘Itr; and hadith sciences with Shaykh Bassam al-Hamzawi. Later in Amman, he completed studying inheritance law with Shaykh Ali Hani. In 2006, he received his MA in Islamic Studies (Problems in Family Law for Muslims in the United States) with honors from Imam al-Ouzai, Beirut, and has almost completed his PhD in Islamic Studies (Effects of Family Law on Muslims in the United States). With his wife, Hedaya Hartford, he has co-authored Your Islamic Marriage Contract; a critical edition and commentary of Risala al-Birgivi in Arabic; and Birgivi’s Manual Interpreted: Complete Fiqh of Menstruation & Related Issues in Shaykh Ashraf served as the Academic Director of the Qasid Institute for Classical Arabic in Amman from 2004-2007. He currently lives in Amman, where he is studying Hanafi fiqh with Shaykh Ahmad al-Jammal and teaching local courses.
Sister Fatima Ahmad has joined SunniPath as a part-time member of the eLearning team. Her role will be that of an Instructional Designer, focusing on course design and curriculum implementation. She will work with Sunnipath faculty in facilitating online teaching effectiveness and designing courses to be more alligned with online teaching pedagogy. Sister Fatima comes with a strong background in education, including a Bachelors in Psychology and Education. She has been teaching languages and liberal arts at different levels since 2004. She will be full-time starting in April.
