The Proper Manners of the Sunni Way - The Way of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace)
Imam Subki (Allah have mercy on him) quotes the great Sufi master Sahl ibn Abd Allah al-Tustari (Allah have mercy on him) as mentioning that,
“From the proper manners of the People of the Sunna (Ahl al-Sunna) are four things that are absolutely necessary:
[1] Following the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)
[2] Complete neediness for Allah Most High
[3] Seeking Allah’s assistance
[4] Remaining steadfast on these until one’s death.
Imam Subki says about this, “These are words of truth.”

فتاوى السبكي - (ج 5 / ص 9)
وَمِنْ
آدَابِ أَهْلِ السُّنَّةِ أَرْبَعَةُ أَشْيَاءَ لَا بُدَّ لَهُمْ مِنْهَا
: الِاقْتِدَاءُ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
وَالِافْتِقَارُ إلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى وَالِاسْتِغَاثَةُ بِاَللَّهِ
وَالصَّبْرُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ إلَى الْمَمَاتِ .
كَذَا قَالَ سَهْلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ التُّسْتَرِيُّ وَهُوَ كَلَامٌ حَقٌّ .
وَمِنْ
