The five leadership traits are to be:

  1. Honest
  2. Forward-Looking
  3. Competent
  4. Inspiring
  5. Intelligent

May Allah bless our communities and organizations with leaders that have perfected these and with followers that will follow them, ameen.

[From a course content a friend recently attended on this subject-some points]
1.Has clear objectives and communicates effectively with the team.
2.Leads by example.
3.Understands and motivates his team.
4.Is a decision maker.
5.Has good managerial and organisational skills.

Salam,

Those are excellent traits for leaders to emulate. I just wanted to share with you what had been said by Khalifah Umar Al-khattab when people was asking him on what could be the most important thing that a leader needs?..he answered by saying that the leader needs to understand our deen, i.e. Islam in great details before one could be selected or appointed as a leader to his community! I for one strongly agree with his statement. The rest of other traits can also be found from Imam Nawawi’s book. Happy searching!wassalam
