Shaykh Abdul-Kareem Yahya live from Dar al Mustafa

Posted by Ismael Rumzan, Elearning manager on February 20th, 2007

This weekend, seeing the video of Shaykh Abdul-Kareem Yahya live from Yemen was truly breathtaking. There has been a lot of work done to improve the network there. Alhamdulillah, this meant that the semester started with not only very clear audio, but also amazing video with an arabesque background from Dar al Mustafa, which is beautiful, Mashallah.

Alhamdulillah, Shaykh Abdul-Kareem is teaching three courses with us this semester: Attaining Good Character with Habib Umar, Journey to Allah with Habib Ali, and Living Islam.

Also, we’re having a free live event with him this Sunday the 25th. He’ll be speaking on “Pride & Humility,” a Course Lens from the Attaining Good Character course.  We hope you will join us.

As salam `alaykum,

Alhumdulillah. It brought a smile to my face just seeing these picture of Sidi Abdul-Kareem and it was good to see his beautiful face again.

I assume that a recording of the event is going to be made available later on, but is thereby chance anyway we can get an archive copy (audio or video) of this particular event? I did not see anything liked on the Dar al-Mustafa webpage (or Google).

Wa’alaykumus salaam wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu

Insha’Allah we will endeavor to put up a link to the archive of this event within a week. In the meantime I’d recommend that you don’t miss this actual live session. :)

Salam aleikum

A sister is spreading a message saying that Sheikh abdul karim yahia says that eating meat from Super stores (christians or jewish owned) is halal. I am very concerned of this Fatwa because is clearly a innovation. In the modern system, animals are not killed in a “personal” way nor there is opportunity of kill them one by one saying the name of God…and is also hard to tell weather those are christians, atheists or pagans working there. Please give me some feedback because is clearly that we would be favouring the economic interests of those who are not muslims and compromising not only the economy of our brothers but also our deen. What is next? using alchohol is gonna be ok as well?

wa ‘alaykum assalam Alma,

Here is Shaykh Abdul-Kareem’s response to your comment:

Bismillah
As-salamu alaykum

This person must have misunderstood. It is not permissible to consume such meat and we are absolved from any ascription of this statement to us. And Allah knows best.

Was-salam,
Abdul-Kareem

Masha’Allah, it is good to see br. Abdul Kareem again. I’m from California and have a 13 year old son who’d like to study in Yemen. Are there any schools that he could attend that offer general curriculum in addition to Islamic Studies and Arabic?

Jazak Allahu Khayr
